i have a del sol i just swapped a obd1 jdm gsr into and its coming up with a cel code 14 which is the idle air control valve, but my car is not idling weird at all the only thing it does is sometimes when i hit the gas it sputters for a second or two? anybody know what i could do to fix this? i already pulled it off and cleaned it? any help would be appreciated

so i still have the iacv cel it still is idling smooth though?
i put a iacv from a vx sohc but it is still throwing the code. are the gsr and vx engines iacv's interchangable? its also throwing a cel for knock sensor even though i have it wired to d3 on the ecu any help would be appreciated im going to the beach on the 10th and it would be nice to travel there cel free

bleeding the head consists of flushing it with coolant. u fill up ur radiator and turn the car on, then there is a bleeder screw on the coolant outlet going to the radiator, its a 12mm screw with a nipple in the middle... start it up let it flow, it will let a stream out with bubbles once the bubbles are gone ur blead

i bleed the head, but still same problem. i cleaned the iacv again and ran power to it and heard it click so i dont think its bad. then i soldered on a new plug still nothing. i even checked all the connections. does anyone know what kind of voltage the iacv is supposed to see? i used my multimeter and im getting 14 volts at the plug when the car is started.

what year is the car? what year is the engine? did you have to convert from 2-wire to 3-wire?

maybe try running a new signal wire from the iacv to the ecu.

its a 1994 del sol s with a 1995 obd1 jdm gsr in it. when the motor was in my hatch it never had this problem. the only thing i did differently was i accidentally had the purge solenoid plug plugged into the iacv but thats fixed now and i have the right plug on there but still a cel code 14. it was already a 2 wire so i just replaced the plug

hmm, maybe you fried something in the ecu but plugging in the wrong sensor. open up the ecu and look for any burnt looking components.

Okay ill check that today when I get off work. I had thought about that but then figured there would be other problems if I fried something. The only codes I'm throwing are 14 and 23 even though the knock sensor is hooked up. But that's a whole different problem
