Del Sol Front-end Frame Damage
So I rear ended someone the other day with my 93 Del Sol going maybe 30mph or so. I only had liability on my insurance and have to pay for the repairs to the del sol myself.
The top metal bracket piece where the hood lock handle sticks through (circled red), is bent downward. The part circled in yellow (it's supposed to have a bend out of the factory) was bent inward enough to hit the radiator; note the pipe's clip's (circled green) distance from the actual pipe, that's how out of place it is. The rest of the assembly isn't too bad but it's probably a little out of place which will keep things from being evenly spaced apart. The actual bumper (beam) is sill perfect and the styrofoam on it wasn't even affected.
The whole assembly seems to be in stock on the Honda parts websites for a little less than $300.
How bad of an idea is it to drill out the current assembly (it's spot welded) and then bolt on a new one? Or would a shop be able to bend it back at a reasonable price?

Re: Del Sol Front-end Frame Damage
A shop can WELD it in place.
Mine had the same problem and worked out fine. (actually yours isn't as bad)
Take all the parts, including nose and lights so they can be sure it all matches up.
Good luck
Oh, and you can just get a "Core Support" from a junked Sol,and have that welded in, tho, those not wrecked in front are getting harder to get.

Re: Del Sol Front-end Frame Damage
So you don't think a shop will be able to bend it back? I wanted to go one way or the other because I'm tight on cash. Doing both options is sort of pushing it.
