the background:

I own a del Sol S with the D16y7. I am in the process of doing a B18c1 swap into the car.

with that being said....

Im looking on ebay for a catback as a temporary solution so i can get this swap in. Im noticing on some websites they are saying "will fit S and SI model, but not VTEC"

Does anyone know the difference as to why and if this is something i should be concerned with or are they just listed wrong? someone suggested that the manifold is a different length on the D series vs the B series so the B pipe is longer. can anyone confirm?

B series exhaust manifolds are longer I believe, buy an exhaust for a del sol VTEC.

thats the problem im running into, a 2.5" exhaust on ebay is rare enough..2.5" "vtec" exhausts are non existant without dropping more than $200 (the most i wanted to spend was $150)

I don't think you're going to find a DOHC VTEC exhaust for a del Sol under $200. If you do, you're lucky. But yeah, any exhaust that say DOHC VTEC will fit with the B18. I did the same a couple of years back. I swaped a B18C1 in my del Sol and the VTEC exhaust fit perfectly.
