Del Sol dash swap into 95 civic questions?????
i've been searching all over H-t for info about a delsol dash into a 5th gen civic.
i found one topic with a couple pictures but not much explanation of it. just wondering if anyone else has tried it or knows someone who has or anything like that. any help or arrows in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
yea i know a teg dash is more commonly swapped into a 5th gen but the delsol is a little different and i've got a decent hookup on one already if i can figure out how easy of a swap it is.
once again thanks for any and all help. if you cant help out dont post, thanks

i dont need a step by step write up. just wondering how hard it was. i havent done a whole lot of wiring work just a lot of mechanical stuff like motor swap and suspension stuff. nothing with this much wiring involved.

Re: Del Sol dash swap into 95 civic questions????? (95dxhatch)
heey that's my old ride..( and im proud off it..)
and yes i will give it a try..
and if there are some mistakes.. delvin will help you..
here we go..
to put a del sol dash in an hatchback you'll have to make some
corrections into the main wirring of the meter house.. cause the wirring is a bit diffrent..
( at the fusebox)
and you'll need an del sol airdirectioncap what's on top off the heating system..
it's that plastic thing on top off the heatingunit.
in the middle at the front off the car.. ( you still know what im talking about)
it's easely to remove.. just klink 2 or 3 clips and about 6 screws..
some off the screws are hard to get couse they're at the back off the cap..
you'll see it when your there
you'll need it because an civic dash has an
airoutlet on top and an del sol hasn't..
and some points to look at are:
on both sides the original mounths you'll have to make some holls..
because the sol dash has other mounting points.. you could use original sol mounthingbrackets.. but that won't fit easaly..
civic brackets don't fit either but is mutch less work..
i had made 2 holls in the brackets and whellded
2 nuts at the backside off them..
so that it would be easer to lock the bolts on them..
en between the bracket en the main frame (the car)
i put some distance rings.. so there is less thension at the dash.
.(sol dash is a bit smaller then a civic dash)
further you will have to disable the ground kabel at the steering unit..
and the cable off the heatingunit.. it's on the bottom off the heatingsystem
and on top off the del sol dash there is an mounthingpoint..
i haven't fixed that problem
and now its fidded in my other ride
im now working to make the midconsole( astray section)
fit propperly in the civic.. and that is a bitch.
. god damn that's not easy..
i will putt some pic's here when i finished it..
hmm i hope it makes sense what i put here..
and if you've more questions.. i will help..
maybe with some help from delvin..
it took me 15 minutes to write this hahha... arrrggghhh...

Wow, looks like you have some work to do on that new Civic... nice theme with the stickers, hahaha
Sucks to hear about the gray one, euro style is so much better than anything we have over here, but did the bitch who sideswiped him ruin 2 of his wheels?
I actually have family in Heerlen, NL (but they are polish), very beautiful place
