del Sol/d16y8 died while driving, will not start
I was driving my d16y8 del Sol, about 10mph and it died. It didn't sputter or act weird, it just died and all the lights came on. It will now try to turn over but wont start. It sounds normal when I crank it. You can hear the fuel pump prime. I had an extra distributor so I replaced that. Replaced spark plugs and they all spark. Checked a few fuses (cant remember which ones now).
I am not sure what to do next. I have limited funds at the moment so I would like to test as much as I can before I start replacing.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: del Sol/d16y8 died while driving, will not start
I hadn't looked at the timing belt yet, it was replaced a few years ago.
The car had always had CEL code P0441, which I never figured out what is wrong, I tried everything short of replacing the gas tank on that one. But because of this the CEL is always on so I don't know if there is a new code or not and do not have a reader I can use.
The spark varies from white to yellow and doesn't seem to be as big of a spark as I remember last time I tested some.
Thanks for the diagram. I will have to check that tomorrow when its light out.

Anything other than bright white spark could indicate a blown coil.
Click the CEL sticky at the top. You can pull CEL codes without a code reader.
When checking the mechanical timing, ONLY turn the crank pulley counterclockwise.

I don't know a whole lot about cars so I had a friend stop by to listen to the car. He said it sounds like bad piston rings from his. Is this something that your car could be running fine and then just stop with no issues? I was low on oil a few days before it died, not dry or anything just low and added some.

Re: del Sol/d16y8 died while driving, will not start
compression test came out
cylinder 1: 175
cylinder 2: 126
cylinder 3: 99
cylinder 4: 66
i believe it to be bad piston ring(s)
probably going to just swap motors.
