Default Del Sol body flex

I recently bought this 95 Del Sol with 160,000 miles. I get a lot of body squeeks on some roads.

I think it may be body flex. Any suggestions for a cure?

Are you sure it's body squeaks? Usually with a Sol the squeaks come from the roof seals. Remove the roof and rattles from the doors could replace the roof squeaks. Cure for the squeak is easy - hit it with silicone grease. Should only have to do it 2-3 times a year.

I've noticed a squeak/rattle coming from the very front of the dash too, where it meets up with the firewall. I'm pretty sure there's a bolt/stud at the center of the dash, right where the noise is coming from. Whenever the weather cooperates I'm going to hit it with a torque wrench.

Other than that I really don't get many squeaks, and most of the rattles are from the misc junk in the glovebox & storage compartments. Although... I did replace most of the suspension bushings with polyeurethane bushings a couple years back. Those sometimes squeak a bit. Could be your Sol had the same thing done.

lube your seals with SILICONE based grease. Honda didn't do a great job with the chassis, get used to the flex.

Monkeyboy,
I believe you are right about the roof seal making noise, but I thought that body flex might be the cause. I also have a dash noise when going over some roads or bumps.

The roofs are pretty noisy on del sols As far as body flex goes, short of fitting a cage i'd just hit it with as much chassis bracing as you want/can

I just bought some of the Korbach Frame Locks to try to combat the flex with the roof off. I'll post back when they're installed
