Del Sol B or C pillar bar

I was wondering if anyone makes the pillar bar for a del sol. I'm not sure if it's B or C. The one behind the seat that bolts on to your seat belt. I've seen one before in San Jose on a samba green del sol. Any help? how much, who makes, etc.

That bar is retarded. The area is already stiff enough, so no more bracing is needed, but if your looking at it for harness bars, your suicidle. Search for threads about harness without roll bars.

I also think that area is strong enough, it has to be strong to protect the driver from a rollover without the targa.

I think that one is custom. Find your nearest custom roll bar shop to get pricing.

just measure how long you need the bar to be and see if it is the same as a civic. I bet it is.

Quit confusing him, yes that area of the car is strong enough for rollover purposes, and yet he's suicidal for wanting to have a harness bar??? Maybe the harnesses are for auto-x only kind of thing, becuase they are a pain in the ass for daily driven vehicle. Could always do it up and cage it....

But it's not strong enough. When you have a harness on, without a cage and you roll, if the roof collapse, your going to break your neck if not die. Stock seatbelts are designed to have the roof push you off to the side when it collapses. With a harness, you stay upright, and something has to give, and guess what its going to be? Your neck. And what about a cage/true roll bar? With harnesss its the only way to go, however, in sols there are zero road racing legal bolt in cages or roll bars.

Oh yeah, specifically it is NHRA legal for sure, im not sure what the basic requirements are for any other devisions. If you post the requirements, i could tell you if it is or not...

And your helmet doesn't stick out above that thing? Looks really low.

Re: (EX_AutoXer)

No, im under it and im 6ft tall (with a slight slouch ), but the bar is pretty much as high as we could get it. And its the stock del sol interior, missing a few pieces, and a few were broken when the car was stolen. Oh well, shes coming together.

Re: Del Sol B or C pillar bar (Advan06)

Usually you wouldn't want to use a harness bar and harness w/out a roll cage, but isn't the Bpillar portion of a Del Sol built to witstand a roll over, because of the topless option? Just curious, as I thought that was one of the main reasons why Del Sol's are so heavy.

Re: Del Sol B or C pillar bar (rodrez)

I have the B pillar Bar (goes behind the rear seats) And i like it. On 96 + coupes the already have one under the passenger seat. So if honda put them in there cars after 96 it must do something, either rigidty or saftey from a side impact.

actually even companies like sparco who are safety nuts offer them though theres is slightly better than most

Unless you are just using it for chasis stiffening I would say stay away

also non stock seat belts are technically illegal
