Whatever, I'm just showing the difference.

Remember this one is amplified. The other one I may do the S2k on.

I fabricated a piece for it myself, you couldn't just put one on, there is no threads for the S2k antenna to go into. I soldered a piece with the threads to hold it into an old broken del sol antenna I had, and it worked perfect for me, gets as good of reception as my oem one did too.

Thanks, the S2k antenna only costs like $20 new from a dealer too, so its a pretty cheap mod to do really

What does that statement mean? Was it a powered antenna or is there something I'm missing?

One thing I really, really have to complain about is my radio reception in my 94 Civic. It's always been really, really bad. I haven't found a way to improve it and still keep it stock-looking.

its amplified, or the power wire helps get better reception. (im not technical)

They look like a candy bar with wires, and you hide them wherever.. One goes to the radio, like regular, the other goes to positive power.

The amplified antennas, even cheap eBay ones, get better reception than the OEM Civic one. I'm going to shave mine off my hatch and stick a amplified one somewhere.

I am putting one in my dads (the one I used to drive) 93 del Sol. I have the dash out so I can put it anywhere there, but am thinking about running it between the visors , tho it does not like metal, but DOES want to be at the highest point it can be... so its either that, or under the dash.

Hard to tell until I test it on the road really..

As for mine, I might do a S2k, but I really want powered (the automatic kind) antenna, so its flush when I wash it, etc..

I had a powered one in mine that I recently swapped out. They are so unreliable and just sieze up over a little time that I thought I would get rid of it.

If you get a "hidden" antenna, above the rear view mirror is a good spot. You have to ground it and the screw hole for the part your visor clips into is a good spot. Get an antenna cable extension, like a 2ft one when you get the antenna if you get it off eBay...

Gen2tegboi, it was black, and I painted it with several coats, and sanded, then steel wool between coats. Got the milano red from Wal Mart a couple years ago on closeout sale, but I think you can get it at Auto parts stores.

Thumper, the one I got has like a 10' cable, so I think I'll be ok. Mine also didn't have a ground, just 2 sided tape. I think I'm gonna put it under that trim between the visors, not on the window. I already have most of the dash out, might as well..

I am needing to replace my broken antenna on my newly purchased Del Sol. I have not pulled the carpet back to see if it is power or manual yet though. I like the look of the S2000 in this picture. Is it just as simple as purchasing the S2000 antenna and connecting it up? Is the bezel around the antenna opening already on my car. I am 300 miles away from home and cannot see the car to inspect it.

What parts are needed to get me through this swap?

Thanks for any help.

The power antenna from a DA integra or 93-98 accord works too just need some modifications.

May I ask what "piece" you soldered in with the threads? Any photos of the process available?

Thanks!

The S2000 antenna looks GREAT on you Del Sol...

Why doesn't anyone mention the mugen antenna?? Maybe it wasn't available those years. I got one new for like 7$. It's about 6“hard thick plastic, colored black with 2-3"of it is carbon fiber.and says "mugen' (kinda small) near the base. I have not installed it yet FYI.

Can you still get them ? If so, can you provide a link ?

I found the (Honda Universal) antenna on 'ikonmotorsports' webpage. If on a phone, you may or May not need to put it in desktop mode(to get the magnifying glass search tool) search for 'antenna'. But look at the categories if that doesn't work, as they have mug, mugen style, Honda, and more (I am just a customer/end user).
