del slo engine swap question
alright i just bought a 93 del sol si with a d16z6, 20 miles down the road the son of a bitch THROWS A ROD THROUGH THE BLOCK!!!!!! so i have a readily accessible d15b7 block here at my house. can i take my z6 block out and just swap in the b7(it was freshly rebuilt)??? or would i have to do a different cam gear, take the oil jet out of the block and all that junk?? please need some info so i can figure out if i wanna just get a z6 longblock. thanks in advance

Re: (ci_v_ic)
You'll essentially be doing a mini-me swap, but luckily you already have all the wiring in place so this should be a piece of cake. Yes...the oil jet will have to be pulled from the old D15 block but other than that a new head gasket and new Z6 timing belt and you should be all set. Read up on the mini-me swap ahead of time just to make sure you know the steps but this should be prettysimple and straightforward. The wiring is usually what gets most folks screwed up....but you already have all that AND the P28 ecu. Good luck!
