well here is the story... 10:30pm, driving by a cemetary goin to see my girl at her house, and a deer decides he wants to cross the road... ends up his head collided with my drive side fender, one of his antlers gouged my hood, and then his *** whipped around and smashed my door in... not to mention he scratched the whole side of my car and broke my corner lense, i drive a 92 hatch by the way... but during impact my car just shut off... which was weird, it turned right back on...but now after i drive my car and just let it idle... it will stay at 1000rpm and rev to 1300rpm then back down to a grand..then back up to 1300... this will continue for about 5min then it will settle at 1000, but that is still idling high.... any ideas of what could have happend... the car ran quiet before the deer hit it... i havent touched the engine since and i have no mods dont to this engine... i do have a brand spankin new distributor on it and she was a little low on oil but still in the good to go range... any ideas? id really appreciate it thanks... oh yeah i got full coverage and the will be fixed in the very near future

Make sure the coolant level is good, and properly bleed. The deer horn could have puctured the radiator, witch put air pockets in the coolant. The coolant temp sensor read a pocket of air thinkin its cold and adjusts the rpms to compensate. Could also be the iac sensor.
