Default DEER>EM1

Yes I hit a lovely deer with my EM1 this morning at about 2AM. Ive had the car for about 3 months. Driving on a country road in my old town, the road was quite narrow and no road lighting at all. I was probably doing 55mph when the deer shot directly in front of my from the side of the road, I slam on my brakes and lock the tires up...but I still managed to hit the ******* piece of **** animal. I clipped its back legs, it didnt even make the car budge(Si is a solid built car). The driver side headlight, fender, and door, all have damage. Also my pretty much brand new cf hood has a small gash on it, but no big deal. Suprisingly the bumper is fine. I consider myself lucky that im OK and that the car came out pretty decent for how hard I hit it. Sorry but I dont have any pics of it yet, but I might post some...

P.S. I went back to check on the deer with my friend and it was DEAD!!!!

You are very lucky. My old roomate bought a 2002 Z28 just before Christmas last year. We were living in Indiana at the time and we came back to Michigan for the holidays and he hit a deer on Chrstmas Eve at about midnight or so, he was on his way home from his grandparents when he hit it. Long story short he went into a ditch, slid for about 50 yards and hit five trees. He broke is ribs, wrist and had a major concussion. He also had his 10 year old little brother n the car with him and all of the Christmas presents for his bro in the back seat. Car was totalled 2 weeks after he bought it.

Michigan sucks for deer. I have hit one as well. I just hope that they don't total your car, which the shouldn't. When my '97 was about 5 years old, I hit one just like you did except on the passenger side, and they didn't total it, so hopefully yours won't either.

JDM-97CX, are you from MI too? If so I did not know that.

I f*cking hate those damn forest cows. I hit one about a yr ago - destroyed my front driver corner basically - Headlight (jdm sir's) fender and hood all had to be fixed.
Its not tough to fix it - buy used parts

Do you guys have any tips for me when I talk to the insurance company(im a major NOOB when it comes to body work)? I would really like to get some CTR headlights if i can. Its kinda funny because the previous owner hit a deer and screwed up the passanger side. Another thing, even though my cf hood isnt bad at all, just a 1inch scratch right at the lip of it, do you think I can get a new hood out of that, and if so will they just put an OE hood? Any comments and tips please. Thanks
