Decided Swap D15y8 for H22a (delsol Si 1997)
my supplier doesnt have any LSD transmitions though... think im gonna go ahead without the LSD....
now im not doing it myself... im thinking of paying midas to do it (the midas locally isnt scam artists, quote me at 700$ a day... should be 2 days work, but ill confirm i havnt talked ot them yet)
the engine should just drop in on the new mounts right? no custom work required what so ever? pretty sure midas will clean thier hands of the job if it requires custom work....
cant find detailed info on all required steps... so im not sure....
did a search for h22 in the civic forum... but to no avail
any info would be appreciated. my $ quotes are canadian
im looking at 6000$ canadian after install form the quotes ive gotten... 4500 from a friend but hes located on the other side of canada... and the current D16y8 engine is broken (yes a 1997 honda engine that already expired, im as shocked as you... if not more) only 183,000 clicks got a full inspection done

h22 in civic is somewhat custom.
You really dont want midas doing it. Check the Hybrid forum. sticky on top.

Re: Decided Swap D15y8 for H22a (CustomX)
ok guys, decided i might do it myself then....
one thing im concerned about is i have no tools....
ill buy an engine hoist... no biggie compaired to the labour cost of paying osmeone else to do it... but like has anyone run into bolts they needed impact (air) guns on?
i dont want to attempt to remove the engine then find out im pushing it 30km to someone with tools to get the bolt off.....
(i dont live in the city)
also i live in victoria BC, and im having difficulty finding the local car club... moved here recently...... if anyones from victoria or knows a weblink for the local car club itd be nice to get it.... been searching n googling it for like 3 days
and im thinkin a dremmel to get the tranny mount shaved down.. any comments on that thought?

Re: Decided Swap D15y8 for H22a (delsolitude)
hey guys, was taking apart my sol and i cant help but notice my shift linkage is all under the car...
will this make the h22 shift linkage conversion easier or harder (in your opinion)
(trying to map out the whole job b4 i order the engine)
also... do i just need an engine hoist? like i thought engine hoists just held the engine while you dropped the car...
but if im doing this in my drive way... i cant really drop the car....
this is my first serious project (wanted to do more small ones first and build up but my engine just blew)
basicly the only car work ive done is a coilover conversion myself.
and generic deck issues and custom lcd's and xbox 360 stuff... blah blah
am i getting out of my league? i dont care about time... can take me 2 weeks to do.... i figure anything over spending 2 grand on an install.... cdn
