Dealership wants $998 for E-brake fix...
that and rear rotors. They mentioned the caliper siezed for the emergency brake, and the cable broke. Parts + install, $998 and they asked "Should we get started?"
5 Minutes later, I was driving to get lunch.
So, that in mind, I wanted to get some opinions (Yes I did search). My E-brake ratchets up just like normal, except it has almost no resistance until it reaches the top. That peak will hold the car at a slight (I'm talking 5 degree) incline. No brake issues when stopping. Just no e-brake.
Any directions, including links to a DIY or an old thread on that I missed, much appreciated.

Ah, you need at least one new cable and you should replace both calipers. Cable, IDK how much it is. Calipers are like $100-150 for a pair of decent ones. Rotors are cheap from R1 Concepts on eBay, and they're good quality, or get something like Raybestos or some other name brand (don't get drilled or slotted ones). Pads, just get whatever you like.
With how the cables are connected to the e-brake lever, if one snaps, the lever has to be pulled way back to pull the one good one. The fix should be easy, just take off your old calipers, rotors and cables and put the new ones on.

If your not having braking problems try this there is a adjust blot behind the e brake, under center console, to adjust tension on the brakes when pulling the ebrake, adjust it and should fix your problem, but if one of the cables are broke replace them not hard to do just a pain, will be about $35 each for a new cable. replace left and right ones!! saves your self down the road.
Also if your e brake caliper seized your wheels would be locked up in the rear, or you would have a noticeable difference in braking, where your front end would dip when in every time you tapped the brake.
