anyone throw a dc5r steering wheel into a del sol? i found a site that sells them for a good price i was thinking of getting one, but i wont if its a no go or a pita to install? any info as well as pics would be greatly appreciated

I don't think it will fit an EG, but will fit an EK. They have different splines

thing being my 95 del sol SI is neither a eg or a ek its a EH7 so i dont know what it would be closer to being.. can any of the Del Sol gurus hop in here and and inform us!! lol im dying to know

for the most part, a del sol "is" a EG

No it won't fit unless you modify the splines or get an ek rack and pinion and steering column.

Just get an eg6 steering wheel and call it a day.

no point in that, i want to go newer not older shabber looking. so no one on the forums has actually attempted a dc5r steering wheel on a del sol ? i recall seeing an EG hatch with an rsx type S steering wheel should be identical just im unsure of what kinda job it is to do it

Look, i already told you they were different!!

92-95 civic's, all del sol and 94-01 Integra use one style of spline

96-00 civic, rsx, S2000 use another size of spline

The only way to get around this, is to cut and weld the middle of the steering wheel to switch the splines, i wouldn't do it........or

You could look into a custom install of a 96-00 civic steering column into your del sol

Easiest is to get a DC2 type R wheel, direct bolt on.

But if you wanted the DC5, find a EK steering column swap that in, and the DC5 wheel with bolt on no problems to your new EK rack.

( and people say the EK rack is better in terms of feel as its filled ?!?)

You could also try putting in a 98-01 JDM Integra Type-R steering wheel with SRS if you want an updated wheel with an airbag.

thanks guys, to some of you guys or give the option of dc2 type r i do know that would go on with any problem, i was just curious if the dc5 could be done, i guess i have to dig deeper into this idea. good thing i didnt go ahead and buy one already lol
