I'd go w/an eg and drop a GSR in it.

i personaly like DC2's more looks-wise, but EG's have alot of potential also, and are lighter, they dont look bad either, unless they're stock and rollin' on steelies, with 10 dollar wal-mart hub caps.

The term "good motor" is what you make of it.

If you drive 300 miles a day, a VX (D15Z1) would be a good motor for you. If you have no budget and are looking for the optimal all motor, the K20A2 would be better for you.

"good motor" is subjective as ****.

The EG is a lot lighter than the DC2 making it a quicker and better handling car - but I'd take a DC2 in a heartbeat over a EG if everything else is considered equal (in just terms of chassis). Might not be as light as 5th gens, but again, that's up to you.

Mechanically they're basically the same, again, the difference is with you - there's 2 concepts, weight and aesthetics. Obviously there's the problem which is opinionated differently by each person which is aesthetics, which you can't get a "True" answer on that, as for performance, due to its lightness, the 5th gen (eg) will perform better, though like I said, I'd take the DC2 .

As for the motor, I'm more of a torque guy than an RPM guy, so I'd stay away from motors like the CTR and the B16a which run low displacement high RPM, boosted LS is a good setup which can be done for maybe 2500-3500 (not including chassis), GSR is another good bet - it's a pretty balanced motor, got torque and also has high RPM so it punches high, very nice equalizer.

Though how you wanna do it is up to you.

Boost, no boost, naturally aspirated, nitrous? Looking for best track time or you looking for daily power?

"Best" motors are determined by your needs and what meets them the best. Nobody could tell you a "best motor and engine."

DC2/4 = EG EX coupe > EG DX coupe > EG hatch.

I would go with the eg. In my opinion it looks better and you can still swap it if you want to.

i made this same decision when getting my eg hatch, i went with the hatch because imo it had a more potential chassis then the dc and its alot lighter.

DC2 looks better IMO and the hatch would be more ideal performance wise. If you get them both stock youre going to have to swap out the hatch while you could turbo the integra though.

it depends on weather you want a good DOHC platform to start or if you wanna build a SOHC z6( im doin right now). or if you wanna swap. you have to think about how much work you want to do and what your goals are. find specs on both cars, avalible mods, determain your skill level and goals. and go from there.

Buy a Civic, if its your first car, learn to drive well first, or you will end up just wrecking a perfectly good acura, Save your money. a 94 Integra LS will cost easily 1-2 grand more an a compartive EG *just as an example.

the eg is an extremely common project car, and is supposed ot be easy to work on and swap. What' s your priority? Fashion forst or going fast.

Either way, don't forget about security. Also, we really need to know more than "dump" unless you mena you want your lip an inch off the ground like some of these cars in the "slammed thread". Boost? Na?

here's an idea: swap in a b18b1 motor for pretty cheap (chec a junkyard or http://www.craigslist.org) and then once you save up some more, peice together a turbo kit. That takes a lot of research though, so this isn't the place for us to do all of your dirty work, although we'll definately help you.
