DC short shifter question--did a search--didn tfind what I was looking for...
I installed my DC SS this past sunday and When I removed the stock shifter, I noticed the two o-rings on the side of it. Now when I went to install the DC and attach the shift rod again, I couldn't fit the o-rings, so I left them out. There is that rubber on the DC but it doesnt come out very far--Kinda afraid of metal on metal--I wnat to know If I am just retarted because I couldn't get them to fit or if they are not supposed to go in or maybe I need smaller ones--Anyone got any ideas or advice--specially those who have intsalled it.
TIA
by the way--this is on a 99 Si

I don't know about DC ss's, but the stock o-rings didn't fit on my ss. It might vibrate a lil without the o-rings there, depends on how much gap you have between your ss and the linkage. I used some metal spacers and the vibration stopped. Don't worry about the metal-metal thing. You'll be more annoyed with the vibration.

So vibration is the only real problem---There is not a lot of room between the linkage and the shifter so I havent noticed any vibrating---YET
