DC race header and JG header with race down pipe
I was just reading the new issue of SCC and It showed a dyno of the JG edelbrock header with both the street downpipe and the race downpipe w/no cat and straight exhaust(like the DC race header) on a B16A1. With the race downpipe they recieved significant gains in hp and no loss of torque as opposed to the minimal gains they got with the street down pipe, cat, and exhaust. I always thought that running an open header would cause a loss of torque. I had an axle back exhaust on my SI and I removed it again today. With the stock b-pipe and resonator in place it isn't loud at all without the muffler. I mean, if an open header would cause power gains then an open muffler would cause power gains as well albeit not as much but more than having an axle back in place right? I was just wondering if I would lose power with this setup.

Re: DC race header and JG header with race down pipe (SiKSiR)
i think that since that race b pipe has some extra length to it it helps with the torque issue, I can't remember if it lost any on the bottom end of the curve. I'll have to look at that magazine tonight to see.
