DB reading stations in So.Cal?(exhaust)
I recenlty got an exhaust ticket, the cop said I was over 100db! and he didnt even have a db reader on him.
I really doubt I was over even 90db due to the silencer and car being a daily = no hardcore mods.
I want to fight this ticket unless Im proven wrong.
So that being said, I would like to take the car in for the exact readings, does anyone know where I can take it to in So.Cal. ?
TIA

I called the muff shops and NO luck..
About me buying one, will defeat the purpose of proving then wrong in court.
Why? because the readings/evidence will be coming from me.
It will be alot better if I had some kind of a legit bussiness that gave me a reading or some kind of proof/printout.

I know greddy does DB testing for there customers if you happen to know someone who works there.. but that was the only situation where I heard of someone successfully getting a DB reading and showing it in court and fighting it .. good luck..

im not sure if the db reading stations are up and running yet(meaning if the law was passed it takes some time to be implemented). you best bet is to go or call someone at sema.
where did you get pulled over? and who pulled you over(chp)?

Like I said in my previous post, it will defeat the purpose of proving them wrong in court.
Why? because the readings/evidence will be coming from me.
It will be alot better if I had some kind of a legit business that gave me a reading or some kind of proof/printout.
Thanks for all the replies guys

Have your ever tried an audio shop? Alot of those shops compete regularly, and use DB meters to measure their set ups

if you go to court to fight it. they will have a cop take you outside to your car with one and test it. if its under the laws limit you win. if not you loose.. its that simple

I thought about that, but they dont just have a db reader in court and Ive asked, since I work in that field.
What Ive also thought about, I might just get the ticket anyways because I have a "modified" exhaust(Veh. Code 27151A), which technically is illegal in Cali.

I think I have come to a conclusion of just buying a DB reader and testing it myself. If its under 95db, I will take the reader and have it present with me at the day of trial. That way, I can have the bailiff to come out with me and inspect it with me there. Thats if the Judge lets me, and is not an a$$.....
Thanks for the inputs again guys

Like I said before, they dont just have a db reader in court and Ive asked, since I work in that field.
Ive also asked the court where Im going to be heard at.
I thought you knew from experience or it has happened to you, but sounds like you are just assuming?
Once again, if you are speaking from experience, tell me what court from. I would like to get more info from them.Thanks.

Re: (eg_nezay)
it has happened to me. every cop is "supposed" to have one on the but most dont.. but in court they will.. if they dont you automatically win . thats the reason for having one in court.. go to the http://www.dmv.ca.gov and read up on the laws

Re: DB reading stations in So.Cal?(exhaust) (CRX25)
some chp centers have one.. I got pulled over in montery park once for modified exhaust... too loud.. and it was an RSR.. I wasn't going to fight it cause one thing would lead to another.. either case, they are right... right?
swapped the exhaust.. installed a front plate and all my clear corner lights to stock..
took it too the chp and came out and looked started up the car... paid my $10 and I was done....
