I was wondering if this would ever come up. Yes, I'll be here for you if you need someone. Just to be sure, you mean DRLs, not City Lights or some other thing -- but DRLs, like Canadian cars have?
First off - get yourself the Helms manual (it's online).

DeSchlong,
I just want to say thanks for taking the time for researching and explaining how to do all the DIY's you have thus far.
And just as yo bj, I'm itching to install some DRLs. I sources sockets and a relay, waiting for your tutelage

All right, guys - I've studied the wiring diagrams, and this is actually a way easier retrofit than I first thought, before I looked it up. If you're totally serious about this, I can get you ALL of the OEM wiring, relays, bolts, fuses, and other components to execute the retrofit. Wiring will be de-pinned from connectors (but cut where necessary) to make this as close to a plug-n-play exercise as it can be. I'll provide you with the wiring diagram and 1-on-1 assistance when you need it. Sound good? Name your price, though - I can't do it for free. (That's capitalism. Sorry.) Keep in mind shipping will be about $15 from Canada, and the parts will be about $10.
To both posters above: I applaud your enthusiasm -- I can't be sure exactly about your reasons for the install, but I will say this: DRLs, for me, add immeasurable safety to the visibility and conspicuity of my vehicle. There are a lot of sh*t-*** other drivers out there, and the better they can see me to avoid me before I need to avoid them, the better chance there is of avoiding a collision.

DeSchlong.. You are the man. I will be weighing my funds and will PM you when ready to exchange funds for goods and services.
As for why I want the DRL's, I am the same as you, the more I can stick out the better. I live in a city/county that believes that bigger is better so every John & Jane had a lifted truck. Plus, our weather varies week by week (we went from mid 60's and rain mid week, to 90's today) and I have grown a habit to just flick on my headlights when I start the car, I'd rather have the DRL's auto-on instead of adding wear to my stalk.
What modifications are we looking at as far as the actual location of the light sockets?
I was originally planning drilling into the stock headlight housing and making room for #194 light socket where the city lights would be on JDM headlights. Am I on the right track for that or should I wait to mutilate a set of headlights?

No, no - stop the carnage! Like I said, this is NOT a hard install, IMO. 95% of it is going to be working under your dash, then tidying up the wires. The DRLs operate like a big resistor attached to the high beams. Drops the power output to nominal but still very visible.

Re: Day time running light installation
just get a gm drl relay and wired up to your car, i'm doing it soon to my eg, i got those tyc dual bulb headlights, but if you got stock headlights or any headlight with just one bulb in it is almost pointless.
