Default Dash Temperature Guage Wire 2000 Civic SI

I had the motor replaced on my 2000 Civic SI. the temperature gauge is reading hot as soon as the car starts. Could something be connected backwards? What color is that temp sensor wire? Maybe the wrong sensor is plugged in somehow. Also what color is the wire to the V-tech solenoid? Someone spliced it in. Thanks!

CDM SI, or USDM SI?

For the temperature wire for your cluster, it's just a single wire plug, below the distributor. You can't wire it backwards.

"Pretty sure"? This isn't something you don't know. Either you live in Canada, or you live in the U.S. Which is it?

Unplug the sending unit to see how it affects the gauge.

I have the US. Does anyone know what color the wire is supposed to be that goes in to the vtec solenoid? Someone just spliced it in and I wanna make sure it's hooked up right.

Sounds like the gauge is bad.
