Dash light wont turn on

Dash light wont turn on
I turn on the headlights and parking lights but the dash wont turn on, the headlights work, I dont have corner lights in right now (the bulbs arnt in yet), I also dont have the light dimmer switch plugged in (this shell was gutted when i bought it), so i dont know if that has anything to do with it
any suggestions?
