dash instrument light dimmer switch swap
I recently bought a 1992 LX with a dead dash light dimmer switch.
At the you pull junkyard, all the eg dimmer switches had already been pulled, but I found one from a 96-00 Civc.
The plug is the same, but the plastic case around it is different (and won't fit the eg dash without modification). The circuit itself is identical.
Here's how to use a 96-00 dimmer switch in a 92-95 civic:
On both switches, pry off the top (i.e., the part that you actually see while it's mounted in the dash). On the 92-95 it is also possible, but not helpful, to pry off the bottom. You don't want to bother, open the top.
Find where the wheel/dial goes into a hole on one side. You'll want to pull that side out a little so you can pull the wheel/dial and the circuit board up and out.
Once you have the circuit boards out, swap the wheel/dial, and then slide the good circuit into the plastic case that fits your dash. Again, you'll need to pull the side out a bit to get the wheel/dial into the hole that holds it in place. Replace the top, plug it in and you're good to go.
Sorry I don't have pics, but it's not hard to do.
