Dash insert question
I've been searching several sites, but can't find info on swapping my 95 DX dash insert for SI insert. I know they are the same size, but is there any additional wiring, or is all the wiring in dash for the swap?
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.

Re: Dash insert question (RIZOBIZERT)
Sorry about confusion.
Yeah, the guage cluster.
I didn't know if I would have to wire the tach or not, since the DX doesn't have one.
I was hoping the harness was the same and had the wiring already there.
Thanks guys.

Re: Dash insert question (scuzz)
I'm not sure if you'll have to wire the tach, but if that's all, you've got it made. Typically Honda doesn't make different wiring harnesses for different models. It's cheaper and much better from a mass production standpoint to make one harness and just have one with a wire that goes to nothing (like your current cluster). If you need to wire the tach, it's not difficult. I believe you only have to run one wire. I had an 87 Nissan Stanza and simply pulled the signal from the distributor. If you'd like a tach and that nice stock look, pick up a cluster and plug it in. The worst case scenario is you'll have to run a wire (3 tops) to get the tach working, but I'm almost positive it's plug and play. Good luck.

Re: Dash insert question (mcvtec)
Thanks a ton guys. I've worked on American cars all my life and this Honda stuff is new and confusing.
I'm getting the hang of a lot of stuff thanks to reading and posting here.
Again, thanks.

Re: Dash insert question (scuzz)
By the way, what's the easiest way to get the plastic surround that houses the cluster and vents out?
I took one out at the junk yard where I got my SI cluster and broke it.

easiest way is by removing all 3 screws including the one behind the hazard switch and start gently pulling from the left side first. Make sure its not cold out, it'll be more prone to breaking.

Re: Dash insert question (Crasian)
I must have missed one of the screws on the junk yard unit. I took out two screws over the cluster.
Thanks for the tip.
