damnit..tranny grinds in 3rd on hard shifts
this sucks man..all this winter my car has been givin me ****..first i need to replace both axels..then i have to take emissions..now on the way home from work today i notice my car is starting to grind going from second into 3rd..it dosent do it all the time only when im at about 8500 rpm or above and shiftin hard..if i shift at 8500+ and shift slow its fine but if im slammin gears it grinds slightly..is there any way to prevent this from getting worse or maybe treat it?..or do i have to replace some **** inside my tranny?..i really dont wanna rebuild it

well aside from the fact that yes, you drive like a maniac
Try double-clutching (I hope you know how to do it right) and maybe gm synchromesh (the friction modified stuff) until you can afford a rebuild (If its even that bad)

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
check rear and front lower motor mounts: they may be worn, causing your engine and transmission to unwantedly shake around at high rpm. replace them, fill with window weld, or add es poly inserts and it should stop.

im not constantly reving to 8500+rpm but everyonce in a while some old lady needs to have a heart attack because she drives so damn slow
b16 motor and trans
once it happened today for the first time i had to do it a few more times to see when and how it actually happens and i found out it happens at high rev shifts into third only

uhh ok that's smart
anyways try flushing the tranny fluid and putting either some honda mtf or gm synchromesh like suggested before

yo do realise everytime you shift that high, your syncros have to work over time to match the speed of the gears...they were probly worn down bad already with the way your drive, and your last almighty 8500+rpm pull screwd them up real good...
What do you have done to your motor to be able/ have reason to hold a gear that high? You know the power on a stock motor starts to taper off bad way before that right.....
