has anybody around richmond payed off any inspection people to pass their car for emmisions? I'm thinking of installing a greddy turbo kit on my 98 coupe and i know it won't pass emmisions so i'm probably gonna have to pay someone off.

Keep your stock stuff.....swap to stock to smog....swap back to turbo....it's not that hard.

well i'm not all that well with installing stuff myself so i was planning on paying to have the turbo installed by a shop. I don't think i would be able to put it on myself so i definantely don't think i would be up for swapping out the turbo with my stock parts every time i need to get an emmisions test.

yea actually me and my friends were thinking about doing it ourselves, but i just don't know if i trust our mechanical skills enough to install it and have it be reliable. How much do you think it would cost to get someone to install the kit? If it is way too much then i may have to install it myself.

Okay I may be stupid, (well never mind we know that i am) but I have lived here in Richmond for 23 years and have never even heard of an emissions test for the area. Is this a county specific thing now? Its a new one for me. Whats the deal?

You can install a turbo kit yourself, its really not that hard. It's just like installing a new header but with a little extra piping. As long as you don't have to cut anything to install it. I have the F-max kit on my si and it was really easy. All you need to do is take your oil pan to a welder to have piece welded on for you oil return line, other than that its pretty simple.

I have been a Tech at Honda for 4 years now we never had emissons for the cars. Maybe in NOVA but not in Richmond.

stafford county(maybe fredericksburg city) is the farthest south along the i95
corridor that emissions is tested.

richmond doesn't have emission tests, but ***** do the inspections and they won't pass a turbo car.
