Damn ball-joint nut!!!!!
So im nearing the end of my Integra front brake swap and the last nut i go to tighten is the passenger side lower ball joint nut and it just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning! I've tried everything i know how to do and i just can't tighten the damn thing! Anybody have any interesting thoughts on how to get on a stubborn ball-joint nut??

^^sounds like you gotta take the arm off and have a new ball joint packed, this has happened to me twice on an integra and civic, it was annoying cause I was so close to finishing then that bullshit happened.

Are you using a new nut? The old one may have a messed up thread. Sorry if you already tried that. I'm sure that a little pressure using a bottle jack under the ball joint and turning the nut with a wrench very slowly will get it started otherwise.

that happend to me on my integra in two different spots, i used some needle nose pliers to hold the stud of the ball joint while i tightened the nut.. either that or some needle nose vise grips..
it's most likely to rip the boot and damage the stud, but that's the only way to get the nut back on

i did the same as the guy above me , but i have never ripped a boot or anything just be careful and take your time.... we do it all the time at the shop, just slid the boot up some so you can get the tip of the pliers on the shaft and grab it. it really doesn't take alot of pressure to hold it..

either you have a stripped nut or the threads on the ball joint bolt may be stripped.
I did this to my skunk2 front camber kit on both sides. Just make sure you preload the suspension(use a jack to raise the lower control arms so when you tighten it you're not fighting the entire suspension trying to go back down.)

Block the top of the knuckle with a piece of 2x4 and jack under the lower control arm, it will force the ball joint taper into the LCA, tighten nut, lower jack, remove 2x4.

Hell yah, I put as much pressure with a jack on that thing as i could and impacted it on. Also had some needle nose vice grips on the stud too. Thanks everyone!

Ok so now with it all put back together, i took the car around the block to test it and the brakes are engaging even when im not touching the pedal. Before i bleed the brakes the rotors were moving fine by just spining the wheel off the ground, but now i cant move it all. Do i need to take the caliper off and push the piston back in and rebleed? This has never happened to me before

this is how you do it^^^or sometimes you can get away with just using a pry bar to apply pressure
edit...sorry you got it fixed already, as far as the brakes go if you used "used" brake parts you might have bad hoses....while they are locked up, try opening the bleeder....if fluid shoots out and the wheel releases then its hoses. if they remain locked up you need calipers

Did you hit it with a bfh when you removed it ?
NOT recomended as it damages the threads, even with a nut on it.
You should try squirting brake cleaner into the tapered hole to wash out the grease and oil, then jack up the car with weight on the ball joint to force it into place, then try tighttening it. If that fails, you have to cut it off and replace the ball joint with a new one.
I've even sprinkled a little sand in the hole to make it grip better with a tight nut.

if its spinning then you'll have to drop the arm and beat out the ball joint and beat another one in. otherwise if you can tighten it to at least 20-25 foot pounds and cotter key it then you will be good.
