D4 Flashing Indicator on 95 Civic
I saw an old post that the D4 Flashing indicator means that there is a disconnected countershaft speed sensor. Since I just had the right drive axle repalced, I will investigate this. My questions though is... will this casue the speeddometer to stop working also [RPM works fine]? Or is the soley the VSS sensor?
Thanks.
Thanks.

did you try reseting your ecu? I have after been doing 5 spd swap and forget to change the ecu.And thats what happens hope this helps. And your rpm is not linked to your vss. That another thing of its own.

'92 - '95 Civics don't have a countershaft sensor. '96 - '00 Do. All '92 - '95 has are 2 shift/lockup solenoids on the top of the case.

Ok, thanks for the info. I can try resetting the ECU to see if that stops the D4 flashing. Will also see if I have a bad connection with the VSS sensor; if not, can change it and see if the speeddometer starts working...

Check your vss plug in.On the wiring harness side.My wire has corroded before and given me trouble. As for the d4 light that won't solve that try to reset the ecu and get back to us.See if we can help.
