Swapping a D17 would be extremely difficult and ******* retarded. Have fun wiring in the distributerless ignition.

And you have a lot of reading to do. You obviously know nothing about motors, Hondas, or VTEC.

it would be easier to swap in a d-series motor from 92-00 civics. the harness is jus plug and play for the most part. and no the harness is not wired for vtec, check the faqs there is a link to where to pin the harness to the ecu.

B16A2/B16A3 were stock in the Del Sol VTEC trim.

Most D series should be a lot cheaper & easier to get ahold of though. If you want an easy swap, I'd go with one of the D models that shipped in a Del Sol. But I forget which those are now.

D17 is a stupid choise...

go for the D16Z6 or D16Y8 (problems with OBD2-to-OBD1)...
or the B16, any of B16 will do...but try to find some with OBD1, so it would be easier!

you could try using the Search function though. all Del Sol S' are pre-wired for VTEC.
