Default D17 Crank into D16

Just wondering if anyone has done it? I'm sure it's not worth the money..but nor is a mini me and people still do that.

Lookin at possibly throwing a D17A6 or A1 crank into my D16Y8. the Bore matches up the same it just has a 4.4mm longer stroke.

Also, anyone heard about putting the 7th Gen GX 12.5:1 pistons in a D16?

Figure you throw the D17 Crank and GX pistons into a Y8...instant race motor lol.

Probably instant catastrophic engine failure too...but it would be fun until it exploded.

Ive seen a similar build using an A6 block. It used a D17 Crank and rods, oil pump and oil pan along with other parts. It is possible. Didnt seem like must work it you have the tools to remove some material off the block and what not. It ended up putting out like 160hp and 135 tq.

I was wonderin if it was sorta like the Spoon S2k Stroker, it uses stock S2k Rods, just has a smaller crank.

Hmm..so you need the D17A6 Crank, Rods, oil pan and pump?

anyone know about the 12.4:1 pistons??

that be sick to have D17 bottom end set up with 12.4:1 pistons in a Y8

Not sure what it would end up in a Y8 but the A6 ended up with a 13.2:1 CR with the GX pistons.

It put down more, 172 HP @ 7600 RPM, but was tuned down for a better torque curve. The 165 HP was at 6900 and the torque was at 5400.
