D16Z6 / ZC Oil gallery question...
I'm fitting a D16Z6 head onto a ZC block. The blocks are the same, but when i stripped the head off the ZC motor, I found a little oil valve sitting in the oil gallery for the head. This wasn't on the D16.
Here's my question...should it be there? Because the D16 broke a rod and I'm now wondering did somebody leave this out on a previous job and cause the engine to be low on oil pressure resulting in the big bang..or is it like this because the d16 is a vtec and the ZC is just a straight SOHC non vtec.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
