Pretty obvious, z6 in a lighter shell will beat a slower y7 in a heavier shell.

Vtec for the win. No matter what. Take it out to the tracks and find out yourself. Unless you are a horrible driver.

the Y7 is a pig compared to the Z6........neither is fast but the Z6 would win no doubt.

z6 definitely. I've seen something similar to this. My gf's 93 del sol si vs. 96 civic dx coupe. No match lol

Personally from experience the d16z6 would win. I wish the y7 was as fast, but lets face it. no amount of bolt ons would make it fast enough to beat the z6.
with the d16y7 having 98 stock hp vs the z6 about 130hp. there shouldnt even be a argument lol.

My dad has an SI delsol( d16z6) and i have a 96 ej hatch cx model( d16y7)
the delsol is way, way faster......man i love that delsol .lol.

Wow. This is ridiculous and stupid. Both are stock internally and slow why the hell are you even "racing" them, and on the street at that.

Read the FAQ and don't post stupid things that aren't needing to be posted. How is this still open?

kids like you are the reason why people think d-series are slow... why bother with stupid question seriously...2,300lbs 125 bhp vs 2,700 l06 bhp--- roughly? you can do math right? most bolt ons give you little to no power gains on a completely stock car.

He said he wanted to race on the track, not the street. Also, what is your definition of fast? And why should we only race cars you consider fast?

i ran a 14.9 with a y8 and 15.6 with a y7, same car, same bolt ons...z6 will prevail all day.

I just read your "build" thread. I can't believe you would criticize this thread after posting that one, lol.

You know what is stupid? *** wipes wasting their time on threads they claim are a waste of time. You say this post is stupid but you post in here? Stop jerking off to FAQ's and get a life.

Ok for my input. When I started out in this Honda game, I had a 97 Del sol w/ a y7 bonestock. Threw in i/h/e bolt ons and thought I was the biz until I got whooped by a eg hatch w/ a d15b and the same bolt ons. Installed a stage 1 clutch, lightweight flywheel, MSD system (no difference lol), and some azenis. Me and my homie w/ a ej1 z6 and bolt ons, went to Irwindale and I got him by a fender.

In this case, you got it for sure.

B-Series a gas hog? I guess against a D-series you could call it one, but in all honesty you get awesome gas mileage with any 4 cylinder.
