D16Z6 TDC *stupid question*
My first time doing timing on a engine and from what I’ve been reading on a z6 motor you have to line it up from the timing gear itself and not from the harmonic ballencer.
Is this the correct “setting” for tdc on a z6?
There’s a tiny little groove on that gear, is that what I line the arrow up with ?

Yes that is the mark.
To be really sure the crank is at TDC, remove spark plug 1 and probe the top of the piston with a suitable metal rod as you turn the crank back and forth.
