D16Z6 swap wont start
i just swapped a d16z6 in my civic cx. i used the stock cx harness and i still havent wired the vtec and the 4 wire o2 sensor yet because i still didnt get my p28 ecu in. the single wire 02 sensor is still hooked up. i'm also using the stock cx distributor as a temporary unit until i receive the d16z6 distributor. the car cranks but it wont start. i checked for spark by sticking a screwdriver in the spark plug wire and setting it close to a ground and they all had spark. could someone help me out and suggest what i should check next? i'm stumped at this time. all electricals and grounds are properly connected. thanks a lot

Re: D16Z6 swap wont start
its getting fuel. as far as the distributor, the bolts do not line up so i just eyeballed the center and used a vice grip to hold it on tight. i know that the timing wont be set but i just want to see if the engine starts

Re: D16Z6 swap wont start
its problaly not at tdc as im sure the spark counteract is different. meaning your coil could be igniting #1 when its susposed to be igniting #2 or #3. take out your #1 spark plug(power steering side of the engine), find the Top Dead Center(the point where the piston is at the top before it goes back down using a long screwdriver), and then look to see where the #1 plug wire is on the cap. take the cap off and see if the coil is pointing in the general region of where the #1 plug wire is. if not rotate all the plug wires so that #1 is in the region of the pointer.
