Default d16z6 rods and jdm d15b rods: Fitment answers from Eagle, Crower and Endyn

When I was reassembling my new JDM D15B I wanted to use some aftermarket D16z6 rods. Well I searched aroudn on here and found both answers: Yes they are identical, and no they are different. So I emailed Crower, Eagle, and Endyn trying to get a real answer.
This is what I sent:
Hello, i've got a JDM D15B SOHC Vtec motor in my USDM Honda Civic right now. I've got a turbo kit that is going on there as well but need better rods than the stock D-series rods. Does your company make any rods that will fit the JDM SOHC Vtec motor? If so could you please provide a part number? Will your aftermarket USDM D16Z6 rods fit the JDM D15B SOHC Vtec motor?
Thank you for your time,
Dennis

These were the replies:
Endyn
Sorry Dennis. You'll have to have the rods custom-made by Crower or some other manufacturer. There's simply not been enough volume in D15 engine part sales over the years for anyone to tool-up and keep the rods on the shelf.
Larry

Eagle
Dennis,
No. The rods for the D16 only fit the 1.6L D-series engines. We do not
have a rod that works in the D15.
Thanks.

Crower
You must provide specs on the stock rods. We offer a shelf part number for
the 1.5 Civic:

5.279" c-to-c
1.772" be bore
0.897" be width
0.748" pe bore
0.710" pe width

#B93741B-4...there's one set in stock.

So, mabye the info will help Honda-Tech readers.

The part numbers of the rods in the rods are identical, so shouldn't any aftermarket D16Z6 rods fit into the D15B? Or are there other things that come into play when installing new rods? I've never rebuilt a motor..

If you have the money, get some aftermarket Z6 rods and let us know how they fit into your D15B so we can all find out.

i might be of some help here. the JDM and USDM 1.5L vtec motors might use the same rod. hopefully someone on here might be able to verify this. i know the USDM 1.5L is a bit different, being an economy motor.

USDM D15 nonVTEC rod part #: 13210PM3000
USDM D15 VTEC rod part #: 13210P07000
USDM D16Z6 VTEC rod #: 13210PM6000

for all three rods above: lower bore diameter (w/o bearings) = 1.7717" . side clearance = .006" - .012" . this information was taken from alldata, which is a technicians reference system used by all dealerships and shops all over the united states. alldata gathers information straight from the manufacturers.

hope i was of some help here.
