D16Z6 replacing D16Y8... HELP
alright, i blew my d16y8 motor and trans. (overboost) now i have a d16z6 mounted in my bay with a yf4 trans (which i don't know what it is out of!) there is a plug with three wires and it is going into timing belt cover right behind the crank pulleys on the d16y8, I ASSUME it's the crank position sensor, the d16z6 does not have these wires and or plug coming out of there, and i can't find them anywher. does anyone know if i'm gonna be safe to run with out that hooked up? what can i do?

by the way... i know this swap sounds stupid and i just did a little research... the sensor that i though was crank position sensor i think must be a knock sensor or something cuz i know that d16z6 doesn't have one, and that should be the only diff since it's obd1, and my car is obd2, so having said this... does anyone know how to get around that, i don't want to go to obd1, also, anyone know what my trans is out of, i think they're joint with z6 motors but not positive, let me know, thanks!

you have to go obd1.. or have your computer chipped to run non knock sensor.. that is what your missing.. the knock sensor...and the crank position sensor.. it will not run right .. just convert to obd1 to make that motor run right
