Default d16z6 rebuild engine with p29 pistons

do i have to use a thicker gasket, if so, how do i know what the thickness would be? i have OAM head gasket, and i have a clicking sound. with this be due to the thickness of the head gasket?

I would check the valve clearance and also make sure your old gas is good gas i had a similiar situation and changed the gas and redid my valve adjustment and it all worked out.
