Default d16z6 not starting

the car is a 94 civic ex with 235,00ish miles, all stock. a few weeks ago the car threw a cel for the O2. still ran fine, in fact i drove it from ohio to michigan (4.5 hours one way) and it ran fine the whole way there and back. about a week after the trip i try to start the car in the morning and it wont start. it turns over faster than normal when you crank the engine. it has spark although it looks a bit weak to me, and fuel too the fuel rail. im thinking the engine jumped timing by a few teeth but id like to check everything before i tear the car apart. (i live in an apartment and they dont let you work on cars in the car port, so i can have it apart long). so here are my questions, what kind of compression should i be looking for when i check it? also i know i have fuel to the rail but how do i check to see if the injectors are actually getting a ground pulse like they should be? i know the injectors should always have power, so turn the key on ground my test light and check for power to one side of the injector correct? as for looking for the ground pulse, could i connect my ground of the test light to the positive of the battery, and probe the ground wire, crank the car and look for the light to flash???
