Default d16z6 motor swap

just did my swap and wouldn't you know it, the rod bearings are spun.

they are fine at idle, but it makes noise at 2000 rpms and up, so saturday i get the joy of pulling the pan and replacing them.

any writeups on this?

youre gonna have to measure the crank and stuff to make sure its still within spec or replacing the bearings wont help.

Check the journal to make sure it is within clearance specs. If not, you will have to get it polished. Was it scared?

not sure yet. i havn't pulled the pan. im waiting till saturday when i get the day off work. im hoping that they are just slightly spun like my ls to where they aren't outta spec yet. if they are then ill just part the car out and im thinking of financing a 2000 accord 3.0 vtec.

did you change the timing belt? If its overtensioned it could make this noise as well.

well yesterday i ripped the bottom end apart and low and behold, cylinder 1 had a spun bearing. so i hacked it and just threw a set of bearings in connecting rod 1 and threw it back together. i know i should have had the crank cut and replaced the mains, but i dont have time to wait for that, or the money either. so it looks like im saving all my money til either it blows up, or until april when i try to finance a 2000 accord.
