I think that the distributors between 92-95 and 96-00 models are different. You can remove the internals of the distributors and swap them over to make the D16Z6 OBD-2 but this would call for another Vtec distributor from a 96-00 model(d16y8). If you have the ECU, injectors, and everything else from the D16Z6 swap them just buy a OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness. I AM NOT 100% positive my information is correct, research would be your best friend until someone else chimes in with more experience.

i just did a d16z6 swap on an obd2 civic and had to buy a new distributor because the old one wouldn't align. plus had to buy a wire harness from rywire to convert.

The easiest way to do this is to get a D16Z6 distributor and swap OBD2 CYP/TDC/CKP sensors into it (if its a '96 - '98 civic you can rob the sensors from any '96 - '98 civic distributor or '96 - '01 Integra. If its a '99 - '00 civic [except HX] you can get the sensors from any '99 - '00 civic except the HX coupe)

im putting a d16z6 into a 98 coupe with obd2 harness. i have obd1 to obd2 jumper and dizzy jumper. what else do i need

i just ran the top bolt on my y8 dizzy on my z6 swap. only the one will line up but it works fine ive never have a problem running mine with way.
