d16z6 into a 98 civic
Hey I got sort of an unusual situation here. My bro has a 1998 honda civic ex with an OBD1 b16. He recently blew his motor and I have a d16z6 that I wanna throw in to drive on until the b16 is rebuilt. What engine mounts do I need to swap it in and can I use any of the mounts off the b16a like the driver side mount? Thanks

Just take off all the mounts and put them on the D16 transplant. All OBDII D and B series motor mounts are interchangeable.

Okay but this will be an OBD1 d series going into the 1998 Civic, Will the b series mount still fit on the OBD1 D16? So from what you guys are saying I can use the tranny and back D series mount and then use the Driver side mount for OBDII cars from the B series? thanks

no.b series and d series are using different mounts, but the rear mounts might be the same.. T brackets are different too

okay so who is positive they are sure as in they have done it before. My bro lives like 12hrs from me and I plan swap it when i go there. So I would like to know what mounts I need to get a head of time. I know for sure the rear T bracket has to be from the d series. Thanks

sorrule, I have done numerous Honda/Acura swaps in my time and it will work with the setup you mentioned. Trust me.

What do you mean by "Wider"? As long as they fit that's good.
