all depends on the turbo and a/r. But for the normal ebay t3/t4 no more than 8psi 10 maybe, but thats pushing it a little.

I ran 8psi daily on stock internals (tuned of course) through a 19T greddy kit. Did 10psi here and there and occasionally 14psi.

Would it be worth running about 5 or 6 psi on stock internals because I can get a turbo kit that someone is selling for about a grand. I just don't want to blow the motor because it has high mileage. I just want a little more hp that I/H/E can't offer and it's pretty cheap. Just a question, no flaming please...

your gonna need more knowledge about boosting a motor. unless you have money to drop in another motor in case you blow the current one boosting it, then i would not boost it right away.

4lbs is worthless. run 8. Its not going to die assuming its in good health right now and you have it tuned. It a LOT more exciting on 8lbs. It will make you wonder why you invested in that B16.

I'm tuned with a 168K d16y8 motor all stock internals except ARP head studs/new oem head gasket ON a garrett t3/t4 turbo .57 trim .63 AR on 10PSI.. Been running fine for 4 months strong.

[b]My point is -- d-series motors will last a long time with GOOD tune and GOOD turbo brand parts if it's fairly healthy to begin with. A quick leak down and compression test will reveal important details about the health of your motor. On a general note -- I'd run no more than 14 psi on a t3 turbo and 10 psi on a t3/t4 turbo, and like 6 psi on a t4 turbo (NOT recommended)

10lbs. Get a compression test. If it turns out good, and you want to daily drive it with some ***** behind it, 8-10psi is good. You'll net at around 200whp. with a average turbo.

you tune for hp not psi. d series, usually, you top out at 220-240 on a stock bottom end with a good tune and a healthy engine.
