Default d16z6 help

ok i have a 93 civic cx which when i got it had a d16z6 swap in it that was just done. vtec was not wired up. i have a couple questions... the two terminal plug on the vtec selolniod i know one wire goes to d6 terminal what about the other wire i have to do it custom and no pigtail so someone help plz also. when i let off the gas it seems to cut off hard not ease into deacceleration and i hit the gas very lightly and it jerks hard...

The other wire goes to ground.
