Default D16Z6 head porting

Can someone tell me if I can possibly gasket match head port a d16z6 head? I know it has extra oil veins in it, will porting to that extent be a problem?

you can port the head but it can only be ported so much u have to be careful or let someone professionally do it so if they **** it up they owe u a new head. i had mine done years ago and just put it on my new wiseco/eagle build.

I suggest at a minimum doing lots of research before you start porting your own head. The type of build that you are doing it for comes into play. port matching doesn't mean that it is going to flow more. A lot of stuff I have researched even said that a bit of a step will actually flow more. A step meaning the head ported needs to be larger than the intake runner that is flowing into it. there is a lot of write up on this topic. Search and you will find a lot of good info and good links to inform you before you just go port matching a build that doesn't it.

gasket matching is no problem, alot of head porter uses that technique to get more air flow, I on the other hand like to use the reversion technique, like describe above making the intake port intrance about 1" into the port a little larger than the runners on the intake manifold, because air flows both ways forward and backwards you want to create a step on the valve seat, the Intake port entrance, and at the throttle body to stop the hot air from the chamber charging backwards, if done correctly this can increase a good amount of horse power.
