I'm assuming you are talking about the D15B vtec motor. There is 4 variants of D15B that I am aware of.

I believe the D15B vtec is an OBD2 motor, harness and ECU.

So yes, there will be some challenges swapping in the P28 ECU. A Convertion harness will be needed and is the easiest fix as it sounds like you kept your fuel rail (injectors and plugs) and distributor (plugs) to keep the OBD2 engine harness setup.

This would only leave the ECU needing to be converted from OBD2 down to OBD1.

It's a really common conversion harness being OBD1 is the preferred ECU for tuning until the K series.

I'm assuming, based on the P08 ECU this is an OBD1 D15B Vtec. If you want to run a P28 you will need to add the addtional 3 wires for a 4 wire heated O2 sensor (plus you will need a 4 wire O2 sensor)

My honest opinion is those engines are so close you wont see much benefit to using a P28. I ran a D15B Vtec on a P28 (exactly the opposite of what you're wanting to do) for years because P08s are hard to find and Japanese fuel maps are a little different than US/Canadian. It always ran absolutely fine. Actually it's still running fine 10 years later.

Thank you.

Well, that sounds like it increases the variants to greater than 4 for the D15B. =)

Have to take into account OBD1 and OBD2 variants and I suspect at least one of the 4 types have both OBD versions.
