Default d16z6 with d16y8 IM

Hello!

I have a d16z6 engine and I am wondering… should I get a d16y8 IM? The answer is YES! Now I am wondering should the d16y8 IM bolt on my z6 engine. Of course! I heard that you will need a fuel rail with standoffs and fuel regulator from y8. Is that true? And how is with sensors and TB? Could I use my z6 TB on y8 IM?

Or I should get a complete intake from y8 (TB, IM, sensors …)?

Thanks!

I'm curious about this topic too. Why would you switch out your z6 IM with a y8?

yep you will have trouble with your fuel rail ... I just get a y8 manifold... all the sensors are ok, the rubber line are ok, the TB is okay... hopefully my friend is a machinist and he will makes my AEM fuel rail fit on it !

BTW the y8 manifold is like the Type-R manifold for the B series but for the D series loll the plenum is bigger and the runner a lil bit shorter...

this is not necessarily true. i have read that the z6 has shorter runners than the y8 manifold.
