D16Z6 and D16Y8 Blocks the same?
Not speaking about internals, but the bare block itself. Like for example could I swap all the internals, oil pump, water pump, oil pan, etc. out of a D16Y8 and put them in a D16Z6? Is there any differences at all? The reason I ask is because I can get a cheap D16Z6 block and I want to build that and when its ready swap out my Y8 block (using some of its parts still though) and put that in its place, so there is no downtime. I did a search but archives are down.

Anyone? Come on I know someone knows this. I'm pretty sure they are the same, but I want to make sure I don't miss anything, after I go out and spend the money.

Read it here. But after rereading, I'm inconclussive.
Sorry. I don't know if he meant oil pan, or...
Size 'em up, that's the ultimate way to find out, or compare parts numbers.
