Default d16z6 Cel 6 replaced sensor twice still on

just as it says d16z6 motor throwing a cel 6, which is a coolant temp sensor, i've replaced it with actually 2 different sensors now after i broke the original this morning trying to get it out lol. I pulled the back up 7.5 fuse, and then after it was still on i pulled the battery cable. I can see no visible breaks in the wire for the part thats uncovered. I'm at a loss for what to do next, any ideas?

The ECT sensor has two wires and is located below the distributor. Is that the one you are replacing?

Test the two ECT sensor wires for a short or open. This requires a multimeter.

Also check whether the ECT sensor plug gets 5 reference volts from the ECU.
