d16z6 Cam Install question
I have Zex 59300 cam. I want to install it into my d16z6. Im familiar on how to install the cam in the head but the part that I dont get is lash adjustment. How do you use a feeler guage ?(I've never used on before) second... How do you adjust the lash ?

first, for the cylinder you are adjusting, it must be set at TDC. Pull off the cam gear cover and follow the markings per service manual....UP in the UP position and the crank at TDC(white mark), is #1 at TDC. Sdjust these valves. What you do, is loosen the 10mm lock nut on the adjuster screw above the valve stem. Then, with a feeler gauge, adjust the screw until you feel SLIGHT drag between the top of the valve and the bottom of the screw. With that cam, I ran .006 inch intake and .008 exhaust. Tighten the 10mm nut without letting the screw change location, and double check the clearance with the feeler gauge.
Rotate the engine counter clockwise so the cam gear "UP" is pointing at 9 o clock...this is #3 at TDC, adjust accordingly, then rotate till cam gear is at 6 o clock..this is #4, and then rotate till UP is at 3 o clock...this is #2.
