D16Z6 CAM IN D16Y8?
Hey guys and girls, Im new here. But anyways, I am wondering if a d16z6 cam will work without any modifications in a d16y8 head. I have an aftermarket cam in my z6 right now and im getting a 1.6 EL soon, so im hoping I can put the cam in it.

Well, technicallyy speaking, no he CANNOT do that. Did you read his original post?

Without modifications is the key term here. An advanced cam gear would be a modification, wouldn't it? So, technically, no.. You cannot just drop the cam in and expect it to work correctly. You can however rig it to work using an adjustable cam gear.

If by "Redo" the timing you mean install an adjustable cam gear to compensate for the difference in the keyway.... sure! Thats all I am saying.
