D16z6 burning oil - need parts list for $500 engine rebuild
So I'm in shitty situation.. I have a 94 civic del sol si with a d16z6, it's got the original engine with 230000. It runs great and I drive it to work everyday. Well I went to register it the other day and it turns out I need a smog.. that wouldn't be a problem usually but unfortunately my car burns oil.
So it's time for a rebuild back to stock! I have $500 for this rebuild, which I believe should be enough.
Anyway I was wondering if someone could link me a parts list for a full rebuild or possibly write one up, I have a good one going but I wanna make sure I'm not forgetting anything!
Thanks for any help!

hold it Stop, Please STOP, Im going to save you a lot of hassle here.,
Been there with a Pontiac Quad 4 engine. "sure I can rebuild it for 500 buck, no problem" That is until you open it up and find that the crank is gouged, and that the head has a crack.
Find a junkyard that sells complete engines with a warranty and just replace the dead engine.
Many years ago I did a re-ring job on a tercel, I have thrown away better rod bearings that I had to re-use because the bearings were not in the budget
Yes you can just pull the head and oil pan to rering the engine, butttttt when you open up the engine like that you stand a VERY good chance of finding a bunch of stuff that you need, ie oil pump, bearings, pistons, etc.
Re-ring kits start at 150 american, but if the block needs bore/hone it will need pistons. If you need pistons, you will want to have the rods machined (straightened, bored for new bearings) if the rods are machined then you want the crank ground down for new bearings. You see, you are opening up Pandoras box.
your engine, your call. But sometimes taking the cheap route will cost you more.
IF you are going for horsepower and torque rebuild the engine properly. if you are just going for daily driver and need to pass emissions, junk yard engine is a heck of a lot easier. and cheaper

I would determine if it's piston rings or valve seals before deciding on a rebuild. Valve seals woulndt be a big issue but for piston rings, now you're getting into way more than $500 to do it right.

The fact that the motor has 230k if it ain't one the other is on the way out so I'd suggest a full rebuild or even easier just replace the motor.
Also a good excuse for a B swap.
EDIT: Just noticed your budget.... Can't do much with $500. But **** I just saw a full z6 swap for 480 on cl the other day.
